How do I place a hold on a library item?

1) Search the library collection for the item you are looking for.

2)  Locate the item in the list of results and check the availability. A hold can be placed on items that are:

  • "Available" - the item will be retrieved by library staff and placed on the hold shelf for you to pick up at the library
  • "Checked Out" - when the item is returned, you will be notified through your MHC email that the item is available and ready for you to pick up at the library

4)  Click on the title and then click on the "Request MHC Copy" button.

5)  Log in to your library account  (first time accessing your library account, follow the Logging in for the first time steps)

5)  Fill in the required fields and click the "submit" button to place your hold on the item.

6)  You will be notified through your MHC email when the item is available to be pick up at the library.
